Writer in Motion: Admitting defeat

We all make bad choices at some point in life. It’s part of living a full life. Missteps are not always dead ends. I knew trying to force a story this summer would be hard. I just didn’t think my constant physical pain and anxiety would put up a block this year.

I’m withdrawing from Writer In Motion. I will, however, still be working behind the scenes and stepping in to critique where needed. Stepping back affords me the opportunity to support the other participants and do a better job volunteering.

Four of Cups: a person to self observed to see opportunity or positivity.

Woe is me

I’m not going to dwell on this failure. I mean what can I do? Ask my uterus to kindly stop revolting against my creative schedule? Today’s card asks me to look for a bright side. To contemplate how to use this time better, and to look around at what I might be missing. It’s time to stop being discouraged and take action else where.

In a health context, the Four of Cups signifies feeling depressed, weary, or frustrated. You may feel sad about the restrictions your health is putting on you. Focus on what you can do, not what you can’t. Don’t be afraid to reach out to support groups or a professional counsellor for support if you are struggling to keep a positive outlook. Sometimes just talking about things and knowing that you are not alone can make a world of difference.

So no regrets. This picture called out to me, but it speaks to me in a language I can’t understand. That’s the thing with art. Sometimes you can’t quite articulate the message you even though it’s screaming at you. And some times you need to grow up to translate the message right.

So that’s all from me for the WiM season of 2021. I hope to post some on some of my favorite participants this year. If you are participating feel free to link your latest post in the comments.
