#authorconfession June 2017

I participated in #authorconfession for June 2017 on Twitter.   It was fun and I found out a lot of things about Ari (the protagonist of Soulchaser) I hadn’t realized.  Some things were obvious like her swimming naked at the beach, but what her signature looks like wasn’t something I’d thought of.  I made a goal at the beginning:

6/1 write 1000 words/day on the rewrite of Soulchaser, finish the outline, & develop the antagonists.

That didn’t happen.  The antagonists of this story remain just out of my grasp.  I don’t understand their motivations even though I understand their end game.  Writing more from their POV might help.  Going into July, I need a better plan to figure this out.

The kids had school until the 13th, and up until then, I was pretty busy with the last few activities.  there was a wedding on the 10th.  We had friends visit from out of town that same week.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have World of Warcraft raid with my guild.  I didn’t find this spreadsheet until the 27th and that’s when I started really tracking.

Obviously, parenting and RL were my priority. We’re finally in more of a groove for the summer and they have started their summer homework. (Yes, my kids’ school gives summer homework.  Reading and math.) The plan is to take the hour a day of them being occupied and get my writing done.

My phone is dead, and I’m relegated to the old iPhone 5 with the tiny screen until the new devices get released, so writing remotely is now a huge pain.
